Introduction

Autumn 2008, I will be running my Digital Photography for Complete Beginners course again in Burbage. The course lasts 5 weeks. Exact dates to be announced soon.

How Do I Sign Up?

If you would like to attend my course, simply do one of the following:

The course costs £60 for the 5 weeks.

What Do I Need To Bring?

  1. Your Camera

    We will be doing all sorts of practical activities and so in order to get the most of the course, you need to bring your camera.

  2. Your Camera's Instruction Booklet

    If you aren't completely familiar with all of the functions of your camera then it might be an idea to bring your instruction manual too.

  3. Pad and Paper

    If you like to take notes then please feel free to bring a pad and paper. I'll try to provide the key information on hand outs.

Over the five weeks, we shall be covering the following topics:

  • How a camera works
  • The relationship and effects of changing Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO values
  • Depth of Field, long exposures, blurring, noise
  • Camera modes: aperture priority, shutter priority, program, manual and specialist modes
  • Autofocus modes, limitations
  • Metering, exposure compensation
  • White Balance, Flash
  • Composition, Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines
  • Photgraphing portraits, landscapes, indoor, nighttime
  • ...plus lots of Tips and Tricks for improving your photography

Finding Burbage Chruch Hall

Here is how to find Burbage Chruch Hall.

From Hungerford
  • On the A338 from the Hungerford direction, turn right just after the Burbage sign into Eastcourt Road.
  • Go past the village hall on the left, take the next left into Eastcourt.
  • Just before you have the church on your right, the hall is on your left.
From Marlborough, Pewsey, Collingbournes
  • At the roundabout on the A338/A346, take the A338 east towards Hungerford.
  • Take the first left into Eastcourt Road.
  • Go past the village hall on the left, take the next left into Eastcourt.
  • Just before you have the church on your right, the hall is on your left.
